On 30/09/2016 our membership has reviewed the current issues in IT education in the region: in a wide spectrum ranging from public education to adult education a number of interesting initiatives are present and offer opportunities to exchange knowledge and raise many questions to be discussed. After the opening thoughts from Ferenc Brachmann, the cluster manager the Education and Innovation department leads from The Pécs-Baranya County’s Chamber of Commerce discussed their current initiatives of raising the professional awareness of primary and secondary school students taking a major step forward. These initiatives aim the students to focus on professions that will be in short supply in the coming decades. After words of László Janovics and Szabolcs Rabb the head of Helixlab, István Zsenák described the first experiences of training programmers. Endre Jóföldi from Kaposvár-based Precognox outlined their private JAVA programming courses that raised the knowledge-level of the participants. János Bujtár, the head of Digiscool concluded the session with a cooperation opportunity offer for IT enterprises in the region.
